October Events You Can’t Miss in Orlando
October is the month that Orlandoans go outside again. The air is a tad bit cooler and every single event worth going to seems to happen in a matter of 31 days. Get your calendar out, grab a cup of cold brew, and get ready to take notes because you won’t want to miss these events. You’ll likely see me at all of them.
Be sure to check out the newest exhibit set to drop this month called ‘CITY unseen’: A New [AR]t Experience. Snap! Orlando will present an ongoing public art project, which opens artistic borders by launching the city into Augmented Reality [AR] experiences.
Date: October 11, 2019 from 7-10 p.m. (Opening night)
Address: 1013 E. Colonial Dr. Orlando, FL 32803
Price: Donation based - please donate!
This is one of my favorite festivals in Winter Park. Food and sidewalk art make a beautiful combination.
It’s solo friendly and also perfect for an outdoor date or family outing.
Date(s): October 12-13 from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Address: 183-299 S Park Ave. Winter Park, FL 32789
If you’ve never been to IMMERSE, it’s a little hard to put the experience into words. Expect 1,000 artists from more than 100 organizations like the Blue Man Group, hundreds of installations and performances, music, food, and an overwhelming sense of joy. Orange Avenue in Downtown Orlando is shut down for two nights so that we can have evenings we’ll likely never forget.
Things to look out for:
The Dinner Party Project Dinner: You won’t miss a beat with this four-course street dinner located right in the middle of the action.
The return of the World of Corkcicle, an immersive photo experience. Enjoy insta-worthy installations inside eight shipping containers.
Hawkers Asian Street Fare will be serving up its crazy-good bites at IMMERSE, as well.
Be sure to visit the Print a Photo Installation by David Lawrence at Discover Orlando.
Date(s): October 18-19 from 5-11 p.m.
Address: The event takes place on Orange Ave. — south of Washington to Jackson St.(Grand Bohemian). Also on Pine St. and Church St. east and west of Orange Ave.

Every month, you can check out the Evening Exchange at East End Market. Shop local makers and sign up for interactive workshops. This is your chance to support local businesses like Gypset and Orlandough. I’ll be back in November and December with bags of Eat Project Pop popcorn in tow. Bring your money and your appetite.

Yeah, more veggie eats are available in October. The Central Florida Veg Fest is one of the nation’s largest vegetarian and plant-based festivals and it’s back for the 14th consecutive year.
